Can I host MP3 files in my account?

MP3 files by themselves are not illegal, and as such, we do not restrict people from hosting them on their accounts. However, *many* MP3s currently in circulation on the net *are* illegal, as the legal owners of the music in question do *not* want copies of their music distributed around the net.

**As long as you have the legal right to distribute the music in question, then yes, you can host it on your account here.**

What we mean is this: If you have your own band, and are looking to distribute free copies of your bands latest single via MP3 on the web, and you host the bands site with us, then yes, you can host MP3 files on your account with us.

On the other hand, if you want to host, say, a Pearl Jam site, and intend to rip your favorite tracks from their latest CD to MP3 and have it on your site, that would be illegal copyright infringement, and something we can not allow on our servers.
